Sarah is a self-taught artist who grew up in New York in a family of artists; she currently lives and works in Graz, Austria. Her interest lies in nature as well as in people, and her work explores moments of peace found in nature, as well as the beauty of everyday life. In the USA, Sarah studied biology, where the detailed depiction of fauna and flora led her to her art. She also offers workshops in drawing plants and animals. She is a co-founder of Urban Sketchers Graz. In the studio she utilizes a variety of materials, from graphite, to watercolor, to acrylic for large paintings. Sarah finds inspiration in the beauty of nature, in urban everyday settings, and in her travels to Italy. Her works, created mindfully and at her own pace, provide her viewers with a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
